The National Weather Service High Surf Advisory for west facing shores of Hawaii Island and the High Surf Warning for northeast facing shore of Hawaii Island remains in effect through this evening.

Surf this large can cause injury and death.

Please exercise caution.

Due to the high surf and debris, Bayfront Highway in Hilo is closed.

Please use alternate routes.
