Margaret Kahalaopuna Pule Kaoo, 85, of Hawi died Aug. 17 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, she was a retired pantry worker for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of Kohala Kupuna Halau and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Private services. Survived by son, Joseph Kaoo of Hawi; daughters, Thanya Kaoo, Mayvin Kaoo and April Isabel of Hawi, Heidie (Benjamin) Cariaga of Napoopoo; sisters, Sarah Pule of Niulii and Lena Pule-Kapeliela of Hawi; nine grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
