Shoniro Yano
Shoniro Yano, 95, of Honokaa, died June 27, 2022, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kawaihae, he was a retired U.S. Army National Guard first sergeant, member and past kyodan president of the Honokaa Hongwanji Mission, and member of the Big Island National Guard Retirees Assocation and the Hamakua Country Club.
Private services held. No koden (monetary offerings).
He is survived by wife, Maria Yano of Honokaa; sons, Lloyd Yano of San Diego, Al (Germaine Brodo-Yano) Yano of Hilo and Stacy (Selina) Yano of Las Vegas; brother, Yoshiro (Pat) Yano of Honolulu; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
