Hoolauna Aloha Hula Festival returns to Waikiki Beach Walk
HONOLULU — The Hoolauna Aloha Hula Festival is returning live at Waikiki Beach Walk this month.
Traditionally encompassing four days, this year’s event is a one-day live and in-person festival beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Waikiki Beach Walk Plaza Stage.
“Waikiki Beach Walk is thrilled, pleased, and proud to be a significant part of the return to live presentations by this wonderful festival,” Kumu and cultural adviser for Waikiki Beach Walk Blaine Kia said in a release. “It’s an important signal and step forward towards pre-pandemic times, as well as an honor to be able to be able to showcase the art form as it exists in Japan.”
