…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE
ISLAND OF HAWAII IN HAWAII COUNTY…
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE…The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.
* WHEN…Until 630 PM HST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 327 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the Puna
district and parts of South Hilo and Kau districts. Rain was
falling at a rate of up to 2.5 inches per hour with the
heaviest rain near Volcano. Additional heavy showers will be
possible during the next several hours.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Glenwood, Volcano, Mountain
View, Hawaiian Acres, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park,
Orchidland Estates, Keaau, Pahoa, Papaikou, Wood Valley,
Pahala, Fern Forest, Eden Roc, Fern Acres, Kurtistown,
Ainaloa and Kalapana.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 630 PM HST if flooding
persists.

Instructions:
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
