Joseph “Joe” Marquiz, 75 of North Kohala died July 1 in Hilo. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired mechanic at Mauna Lani Golf. Celebration of life luncheon noon Saturday, Oct. 21, at Keokea Beach Park. Survived by sons, Lawrence (Nohea) Kauka of Kohala, Sheldon “Shelboy” (Kapua) Marquiz of Kauai and Joseph “JR” Marquiz Jr. of Kohala; brothers, Richard (Leta) Marquez of Kohala, Able (Linda) Marquez of Honokaa and Calvin (Fran) Marquez of Kohala; sister in-law, Pam Marquez of Kohala; grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
