HONOLULU — Eran Ganot put it to the players.

An 11th-hour opportunity to add a final line to the 2023-24 schedule presented itself to the Hawaii basketball team. Would Ganot’s upperclassmen favor a game against Niagara just two days after the season opener?

“We all said yes because the better we go through games and have experiences, good or bad, is where we’re going to get better,” senior co-captain JoVon McClanahan said.

Count Thursday night on the positive side of the ledger as UH shot 59.6% in a 92-73 rout of NU at the Stan Sheriff Center for a 2-0 start to the season.
