San Francisco’s Brock Purdy and Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa were selected to their first Pro Bowl as the starting quarterbacks for their respective conferences.

It’s the first time the two starting QBs are first-time picks since the 1999 season when Pro Football Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner were chosen.

Tagovailoa, a Saint Louis School graduate, leads the NFL with 4,451 passing yards, a personal best for the 11-5 Miami Dolphins, who face the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East title on Sunday. His 28 touchdowns against 12 interceptions on 69.6% accuracy are also career highs, and he hasn’t missed a game this season for the first time in his four-year pro career.
