Utility pole replacement on Wednesday evening, Dec. 3
HILO, Nov. 28, 2025 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole in north Kona on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The mauka lane of Kuakini Highway, near the Hualalai Road intersection, will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4. The work is being performed overnight to minimize disruptions to the community.
Motorists are advised to plan for traffic delays and use alternate routes. Flagmen will provide traffic control.
