8-9-1803 1st horses arrive in Hawaii
In 1803 Richard Cleveland, an American trader, brought the first horse to Hawai`i and presented the animal as a gift to King Kamehameha I. After seeing a riding demonstration, the king was so impressed that more horses were soon brought to the island.

The intimate affair was held at the Oasis Oceanfront Estate in Honolulu and was a dream come true for both Arnold and Hines who announced their engagement this past March.
“Rico and I enjoyed our fist vacation in Hawaii so we knew that we wanted to legalize our love here,” Arnold told ESSENCE.com exclusively. “However, we chose Honolulu instead of the romantic island of Maui as we knew our guests would have so many more entertaining options on this festive island.”
Seventy guests were present to witness the couple’s intimate ceremony.
This was Arnold’s second marriage.
