Pōhaku Kuʻi ʻAi Workshop

Kānaka Maoli cultural practitioners and kumu are invited to a “train the trainer” hands-on stone implement workshop led by Duffy Chang, Mea Paʻahana, and Keahi Thomas. Spaces are limited to participants who are able to commit to hosting a workshop within a year to spread the knowledge. Registration is required in advance. Participants will learn proper protocol for entering this thriving restoration area, names of nearby pu‘u and streams, and plant native trees and shrubs to deepen connections with our sources of water. This event is an interactive mixer for plant breeders, researchers, organic farmers, and consumers. Attendees can taste new, traditional, and in-development varieties of vegetables, fruits, and grains, while talking story with the breeders and farmers who have contributed to their development.
