Matthew “Bumaz” Brandon Garcia Bumanglag, 42, of North Kohala died Oct. 25 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a mason, chef and fisherman. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Mass at 10 a.m. Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. at Jodo Mission Hall in Kohala. Casual attire; lei welcome. Survived by companion, Rachel Javillonar; children, Chella Yokoyama Bumanglag, Mason Bumanglag, Evin Bumanglag, Jacob Bumanglag and Jaxon Bumanglag of North Kohala; father, Reuben Bumanglag of North Kohala; sisters, Renette (Joe Jordan) Ferreira of Captain Cook and Jo Ann (Harry) Yonemura of Oregon; brother, Mark Bumanglag of Kailua Kona; hanai mothers, Julia Guerpo-Cuaresma and Crispina Guerpo-Quitoriano of Captain Cook; nieces and nephews.
