Jean Emiko Matsuda, 86, of Kapaau died Sept. 30 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, she was a retired shipping supervisor for Kohala Nursery and member of Hawi Jodo Mission and Kohala Okinawa Kenjin Kai. Services at later date. Survived by sons, Scot (Lyn) Matsuda of Honolulu, Ted (Kathleen) Matsuda of Kohala, Nat (Jasmine) Matsuda of Phoenix and Kell (Jocelin) Matsuda of Kohala; daughter, Jan (Carl) Beavers of Pahoa; brother, Kensuke (Minako) Arakaki of Torrance, Calif.; brothers-in-law, James “Masa” (Edith) Matsuda of Honolulu and Dennis (Lehua) Matsuda of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Tomiko Arakaki, Emiko Arakaki, Teruko (Ben) Davis and Joanne Matsuda of Honolulu, Amy Tamashiro of California; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
