The flow front of Fissure 3 is at 1.8 miles from Daniel K. Inouye Highway. DKI remains open in both directions.
No communities are currently at risk.
You are reminded that all areas adjacent to Daniel K. Inouye Highway, Old Saddle Road, and near the lava flow are CLOSED and prohibited from access to the public for your safety.
Please stay in designated areas to avoid hazards.
Weather forecast for today calls for 50 percent chance of rain for the interior areas of Hawaii Island, to include Daniel K. Inouye Highway. Fog and rain will make driving hazardous. Please drive with caution.
