This is an Eruption update for Saturday, December 10th at 7 in the morning.
Hawaiian Volcanoes Observatory reports the lava flow rate is very low at Fissure 3 and the lava in the channel is stagnating. Active flows continue upslope above the 10,000 foot elevation and are no risk to any communities at this time.
DKI remains open in both directions.
You are reminded that ALL AREAS ADJACENT to Daniel K. Inouye Highway, Old Saddle Road, and near the lava flow are CLOSED and prohibited from access to the public for your safety.
Please stay in designated areas to avoid hazards.
A Wind Advisory for Hawaii Island continues; winds will affect the DKI corridor. Please drive with caution.
