Maria Santiago
Maria “Louisa” Santiago, 93, of Hawi, passed away on Feb. 15, 2023 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1929 in Kona, Hawaii. She was a housewife, mother and a member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Also a member of the former Kohala Puerto Rican Club. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Mar. 18, 2023 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Halawa Catholic Cemetery. Survived by, daughters, Camilia Santiago of North Kohala and Krisann (Samuel Dean) Santiago-Dean of North Kohala; step-son, Gilbert (Millie) Santiago of California; step-daughter, Rose Marie “Linda” Pohina of Hilo; sister, Austacia “Annie” Travens of Kona; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
