Frank Soares, 79, of Kapaau died June 7 at Kohala Hospital. Born in Kohala, he was a retired state Highways Division equipment operator. Graveside service 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 23, at Kohala Seventh-day Adventist Church Cemetery, 55-3361 Akoni Pule Hwy. in Hawi. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Anita Soares of Kapaau; stepson, Ryan (Jomargaux) Cabais of Toronto; brothers, Harry (Momi) Soares of Halaula and Robert (Nancy Kresge) Soares of Smithville, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Sabina (Ben) Palermo and Mimi (Rowell) Villarin of Waimea; brother-in-law, Domingo (Mercy) Ramil of Philippines; a step grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins.
