Hoʻōla Farms seeking partners for Veggies for Veterans program
Hoʻōla Farms’ Veggies for Veterans program provides fresh produce and protein to veterans in East Hawaiʻi managing chronic health conditions. The program is concluding this month, and Hoʻōla Farms is seeking partners and funding to continue to expand the program. Those interested are encouraged to reach out via email to grow@hoolafarms.org.

huiMAU’s KOʻA Camp accepting applications
huiMAU’s Koholālele ʻŌpio ʻĀina (KOʻA) Camp is accepting applications for their next program, running June 3–6. KOʻA Camp is a 4-day immersive overnight program on huiMAU’s ʻāina in Paʻauilo, Hawaiʻi Island, primarily focused on empowering Hawaiʻi youth (ages 13-17) who are drawn to growing practices that cultivate aloha ʻāina. Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander producers: share your manaʻo for a stipend
Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander producers are invited to participate in a survey conducted by the Hawaiʻi Good Food Alliance to better understand needs, gaps, and opportunities in relation to USDA programs and policies. All participants will receive a $20 stipend for their time. Take the survey here.

Agricultural Leadership Program (ALP) accepting applications
The Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawaiʻi has opened recruitment for ALP Class XIX. ALP is a 14-month educational program that offers an in-depth look at Hawaiʻi’s agricultural and natural resource systems through site visits and discussions, leadership workshops, networking opportunities, and first-hand exposure to government processes at the state and national level. Applications and letters of recommendation are due June 2. Apply here.

Grant for entrepreneurs in agriculture
The Farm Bureau’s Ag Innovation Challenge is a national business competition that showcases U.S. startups developing innovative solutions to address challenges facing America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. Prizes ranging from $10,000–$100,000 will be awarded to the winner and finalists. Applications are due June 9. Apply here.
