The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for west facing shores of Hawaii Island, from Upolu Point in North Kohala to Keahole Point in North Kona and a High Surf Warning for north east facing shores, from Upolu Point to Cape Kumukahi in Puna through Tuesday evening.
Large breaking surf, significant shore break, and dangerous currents can cause injury or death.
Due to the High Surf, please be advised:
- Heed instructions of Ocean Safety officials.
- Those along the impact shorelines should take necessary precautions.
- Know that beaches may close without notice.
