Stolen Time: A Hawaiʻi Family Remembers WWII Incarceration Ireichō is a book containing the names of 125,284 individuals of Japanese ancestry incarcerated without due process during World War II. Survivors like my father place a Japanese hanko, or stamp, under their name — and the names of their family members — acknowledging the time stolen from their lives.
