Ethel Josephine Yamamoto, 91, of Kapaau, died Oct. 22 at home. Born in Kohala, she was a retired dietary manager at Kohala Hospital and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Kohala Ward. Visitation from 9 – 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Kohala Ward, memorial service at 11 a.m. and burial to follow at the Hawi County Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by children William (Laura) Yamamoto of Kohala, Jerry (Jesse Ann) Yamamoto of Kohala, Joellyn Tadio of Hilo; daughter-in-law Lanette Yamamoto of Kohala; sisters Thelma (Owen) Pool of Arizona, Shirley Henderson of California; brothers-in-law Gary Depontes of Kailua-Kona, Manuel (June) Yamamoto of Kohala, Walter Davis of Kailua-Kona; sisters-in-law Hanako Yamamoto of Kohala, Rosemarie Yamamoto of Arizona; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
