- The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for all districts of Hawaii Island.
A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding.
Due to the Flood Watch, be advised:
- Residents in flood prone areas should be prepared for heavy rains and potential flooding
- Road closures may occur without notice
- Do not attempt to cross flowing water in a vehicle or on foot; turn around don’t drown.
- Remember, if lightning threatens your area, the safest place to be is indoors.
- For outdoor activities consider precautions for heavy rain, high winds and lightning, County facilities may close under these conditions.
- Waipio Valley Road will close at 12 noon today, Valley residents and farmers are authorized to use the road.
