Flood advisory for…
The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County -
Until 700 PM HST.

At 401 PM HST, radar indicated spotty heavy rain falling across
leeward Big Island from near Waikoloa Village to near Kailua-Kona
Town to the slopes above Milolii. Rainfall rates was falling up to
an inch an a half per hour. -
Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to…
Kailua-Kona, Honaunau, Kahaluu-Keauhou, Kainaliu, Waikoloa
Village, Kealakekua, and Holualoa.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 700 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.
Instructions: Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don`t drown.
