Terrence “Terry” Jun Tohara, 69, of Hawi died Dec. 21 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired special education teacher, missionary at the Northern Indian Mission, caregiver and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 19) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward in Hawi. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Memorial service noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Lakeview Chapel, 155 W. 1600 S., Orem, UT 84058. Survived by mother, Carol Tohara of Hawi; wife, Judy Tohara of Hawi; sons, Keli (Christy) Tohara of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Ryan Tohara of Salt Lake City; daughters, Ruth (David) Mullins of Orem, Utah, Naomi (Nicholas) Masina of South Jordan, Utah, Emma Tohara of Provo, Utah, and Catherine (Sione) Fonohema of Pleasant Grove, Utah; brothers, Ryan Tohara of Makiki, Oahu, John (Kaycee) Tohara of Hurricane, Utah, and Marshall (Linda) Tohara of Kailua-Kona; sister, Shari (Paul) Tohara of Ahualoa; 15 grandchildren; hanai children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
