Kazunobu “Kazu” Mayahara, 94, of Kapaau died April 13 at Kohala Hospital. Born in Halawa, Kohala, he was retired from Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the former Kohala Sugar Co., a U.S. Army World War II veteran and member of Kohala Jodo Mission and Kohala Senior Citizens. Memorial services at a later date at Kohala Jodo Mission. Survived by sister-in-law, Thelma Uyama of Gardena, Calif.; nieces, Laurel (Bill Wagner) Uyama-Wagner of Kapaau and Kathy (Maxx) Okazaki of Gardena, Calif., Rachel (Ted) Okazaki of Vancouver, Wash.; a grandniece, two grandnephews and numerous cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
