Walter “Wally” Pilor, 77, of Hawi died Dec. 3 at Kohala Hospital. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired general superintendent for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 38 Nuclear Submarine Repair Facility, fisherman, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran. Private services at a later date. Survived by wife, Grace Q. Pilor of Hawi; children, Kevin (Wyomie) Pilor of Honolulu, Kari (Kirk) Bailey of Waianae, Oahu and Sean Simon of San Jose, Calif.; brothers, Jeffrey (Grace) Pilor of Hilo and Vernon Pilor of Waimea; sisters, Florence (Howard) Dawana of Keaau and Wanda (Rex) Dalere of Hilo; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
