Civil Defense message.

This is an Eruption update for Thursday, December 1st at 7 in the morning.

Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reports two active lava flows on the northeast rift of Mauna Loa Volcano.  The leading edge of the flow closest to Daniel K. Inouye Highway had minimal movement and remains near the 7,000 foot elevation and more than 3 miles from the highway.

Daniel K. Inouye Highway is open in both directions.

Vehicle parking along Daniel K. Inouye Highway is unsafe and prohibited.

Hawaii Police Department reports that motorists that park along Daniel K. Inouye Highway between the 16 mile marker and junction with Highway 190 will be subject to traffic citation and vehicles will be towed.

Be advised that monthly outdoor warning siren testing is schedule for this morning at 11:45.
