This is a Weather update for Tuesday, December 20th at 5 in the morning.
The National Weather Service extended the High Wind Warning for Hawaii Island through this evening. A High Surf Advisory is in place for West facing shores of Hawaii Island through Wednesday evening. The Flash Flood Warning has been cancelled.
Due to the high winds several roads remain closed this morning. Saddle road is your best option for travel across island this morning.
Highway 19 remains closed at mile marker 46 near Honokaa. Other roads closed include Old Mamalahoa Highway between Mauna Loa St. and Puaono Road mauka of Honokaa.
Be advised roads may close without warning throughout the day due to high winds.
