Federal spending bill holds much for Hawaii

The mammoth $1.7 billion spending bill approved by the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday and poised for final approval by President Joe Biden ahead of next week’s deadline to avoid a government shutdown represents a substantial windfall for Hawaii, as trumpeted by the state’s congressional delegation.

    • The omnibus package, which cleared the Senate earlier in the week, includes $858 billion for defense and 772.5 billion for domestic programs
