KALIHIWAI, Hawaii — An intensive air and land search continues for a 56-year-old visitor from California who went missing Sunday in waters off Anini Beach on Kauai.

According to the Kauai Fire Department, Prakash Shroff was swimming with two family members when they became distressed
Bystanders helped the two relatives safely return to shore, where they received care from American Medical Response paramedics, but Shroff could not be located
The Coast Guard continued its search overnight; all other agencies resumed their search efforts at first light on Monday
The search has been hampered by low visibility, strong current and large surf in the surrounding waters
