This is a High Surf Advisory message for Thursday, December 29 at 4 in the afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for the west facing shores of Hawaii Island from Upolu Point in North Kohala through South Kona. Surf will build overnight and remain at Advisory levels through Friday.
A High Surf Advisory means surf will be higher than normal, shore break, and dangerous currents can make swimming difficult and dangerous.
Beach-goers, swimmers, and surfers should exercise caution and heed all advice given by Ocean Safety Officials.
