Puakō and South Kohala Regional Wastewater Master Plan
Based on the public feedback received on the Project Definition Report (published in June 2023), the County of Hawai‘i, Department of Environmental Management has prepared a Draft Regional Wastewater Master Plan for Puakō and other communities within the South Kohala District. The regional area covers the South Kohala Community Development Plan’s four (4) focused area plans for the communities of Puakō, Kawaihae, Waimea, and Waikōloa Village. The Draft Regional Wastewater Plan provides recommendations for regional area wastewater infrastructure through a 30-year planning period, 2022 to 2052.
As the proposing agency, the County is seeking public input on the Draft Regional Wastewater Master Plan from February 9, 2024, through April 22, 2024. Please refer to the attached flyer for a copy of the plan as well as the opportunities and methods to provide your input.
