Brenda M. Santiago, 77, of Halaula died Sept. 17 at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Kohala, she was a retired pantry worker for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation 8:30-9:45 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 23) at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Urn burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Augustine “Auggie” Santiago of Halaula; children, Tammy Santiago, Augustine Santiago Jr. and Brian Santiago of Kohala; mother, Dorothy “Dora” Caravalho of Kohala; brothers, John (Wilhimina) Calvo of California and Freddie Caravalho of Kohala; sister, Theresa (Melton) Gamayo of Keaau; sisters-in-law, Elwyn Caravalho, Amelia (Gerald) Yamasaki, Caroline Torres and Cynthia Caravalho of Kohala; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
