Richard Lahaina Nauka, 65, of Hawi died July 19. Born in Ewa Beach, Oahu, he was retired from Guest Services at the Fairmont Orchid, a member of Iron Workers Union Local 625, U.S. Army National Guard veteran and grew up surfing and playing football. Private family services. Survived by wife, Susan Medeiros Nauka of Hawi; daughter, Kassie Kamalani Nauka of Henderson, Nev.; sons, Kassius Lahaina Maui Nauka and Kal-el Kaheke Nauka of Hawi; sisters, Ora Mae Haupu (Kenneth) Ho of Kahului, Maui, June Maile Tredinnick and Gaylene Noelani Nauka of Mountain Top, Pa.; brother, John (Lina) Nauka of Paia, Maui; nieces and nephews.
