Logan Paul Kainalu Thornton, 24, of Kapaau, died Nov. 22 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Waimea, he was a cook at Island Hopper at the Mauna Lani Resort, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hawi Ward and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday (Dec. 12) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hawi Ward. Funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Burial 12 noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery, Kailua-Kona. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Jaimelyn Thornton of Honokaa; daughter, Brynly Thornton of Honokaa; father, Matthew Thornton of Tacoma, Wash.; mother, Alice Thornton (Rob Lloyd) of Kapaau; paternal grandfather, Paul (Mary) Thornton of Tacoma, Wash.; paternal grandmother, Claudia Dunell of Tacoma, Wash.; maternal grandmother, Fina Vega of Kapaau; brothers, Kaipo (Dayna) Colleado and Dustin James (Chelsea) Colleado of Honolulu; sister, Arianna (Naio Maioho) Thornton of Waikoloa; hanai grandmother, Udell Coleado of Hawi; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
