Utility pole replacements on Thursday evening, Feb. 26
HILO, Feb. 20, 2026 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace utility poles in Keauhou on Thursday evening, Feb. 26. The replacement will require an overnight road closure while the work is being performed.
Mamalahoa Highway, just south of Nohealani Street, will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, to 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27. The work is being performed overnight to minimize disruptions to the community.
Motorists are advised to use Kuakini Highway as an alternate route and drive with caution when approaching the work zone. Flagmen will provide traffic control.
