Overnight road closure for utility work in Holualoa
Pole replacement on Thursday evening, April 30
HILO, April 23, 2026 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a utility pole in Holualoa on Hawai‘i Island on Thursday evening, April 30. The replacement will require an overnight road closure while the work is being performed.
Mamalahoa Highway, just north of the Poli Uli Road intersection, will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, April 30, to 6 a.m. on Friday, May 1. The work is being performed overnight to minimize disruptions to the community.
Motorists are advised to use Kuakini Highway as an alternate route and drive with caution when approaching the work zone. Flagmen will provide traffic control.
