4th Annual Kona HI-PAL Canoe Regatta Brings Keiki and Community Together
The Hawai‘i Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section, in collaboration with Kai ‘Opua Canoe Club and Kai ‘Ehitu Canoe Club, hosted the 4th Annual Kona HI-PAL Canoe Regatta on April 11, 2026, at Kailua Pier.
Approximately 100 keiki participated in 14 events throughout the day, showcasing teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong sense of community.
The Hawai‘i Police Department extends its sincere mahalo to the participating canoe clubs, volunteers, and community members who helped make the event a success. Special thanks are extended to Coca-Cola Bottling of Hawai‘i, the Roberts Foundation, Raymond and Jennifer Torcato of Big Island Grill, and Nolan Hing of Hawai‘i Fresh Specialties for their generous donations of food, snacks, and refreshments.
Events like the HI-PAL Canoe Regatta reflect the department’s continued commitment to building positive relationships with youth and promoting healthy, active lifestyles through community-based programs.
