Tomie Miyashiro, 90, of Hawi died Sept. 10 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Kohala, she was retired from Kohala Nursery and a member of Kohala Jodo Mission, Kohala Okinawa Kenjin Kai and Kohala Senior Citizens. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughters, Joan (Frank Jr.) Caravalho of Kohala, Aileen Lui Kwan of Oahu, Caroline (Bert) Imada of Honokaa and Cindy (Michael) Odo of Oahu; brother, Shotoku Nakasato of Kaneohe, Oahu; sister, Janet Shizuko Kimura of Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
