Seijun “Hana” Hanashiro, 100, of Honolulu died Oct. 3 at a private care home in Keaau. Born in Kohala, he worked for the Army Civil Service in Japan and Korea, was a free and accepted Mason and member of Torii Masonic Lodge No. 6, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Koboji Shingon Mission of Honolulu. Private services held. No koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Noriko Hanashiro of Honolulu; son, Roy S. Hanashiro of Michigan; daughter, Junko (Don) Weeks of Pahoa; sister, Asano Teruya of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Nancy Sakuma of Waimea; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
