Utility work to close one lane of Ali‘i Drive in Kona
Feb. 20 to March 1 weekdays from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.


HILO, Feb. 16, 2024 – Hawaiian Electric crews will replace two utility poles on Ali‘i Drive in Kailua-Kona from Tuesday, Feb. 20, to Friday, March 1.

One lane on Ali‘i Drive between Hualalai Road and Walua Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and plan for delays.

Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians passing near the work area. The County of Hawai‘i and communications providers also will be working in the area.

The work will not require a power outage.
