Point of land along oceanside cliff
Co. 8 and Rescue Co. 2 responded to report of two overdue hikers attempting to go to next valley past Waimanu. Reporting party stating she last heard from friend 4 days prior, with friend stating to be “unsure if they could make it back”. Co. 8 established command post and landing zone for Chopper 1. After extensive searching by air, C-1 was able to locate 2 person party on Laupahoehoe Iki Point. One person extracted to LZ, with other person refusing extraction. No medical assistance needed or wanted.
