Police Seek Kona Credit Card Theft Suspect

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating the fraudulent use of a credit card that occurred at multiple businesses in Kailua-Kona between March 13 and March 16, 2026, and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

 

The victim reported that an unknown individual used the card to make unauthorized purchases at several businesses, including two large bib-box stores. Surveillance footage from the businesses shows a dark-skinned male with a beard using the card and leaving the stores.

 

Police ask anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the individual to contact the Hawaiʻi Police Department non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or email Officer Brian Hunt at brian.hunt@hawaiipolice.gov.
