Carlsmith and Kealoha Beach Parks Closed Due to Shark Sighting

Carlsmith Beach Park and James Kealoha Beach Park in Hilo are closed for the remainder of the day on Friday, May 15 due to a shark sighting, the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation has announced.

The decision to close the beach parks was made in coordination with the Ocean Safety Division of the Hawai‘i Fire Department.
