Cell Service Kohala Nonstop to Kona

3

Wouldn’t it be great if we could have cellular coverage nonstop driving from North Kohala all the way to Kona…only problem is from around the 20 mile marker to 15 mile marker on #270 and various locations on The Upper Road. What can we do to get AT&T and Verizon to cover the gaps?

What do you feel about this?

  1. AT&T has app called mark the spot. Whenever I am in an area where there is no service or spotty service, I mark the spot. This alerts the towers operators that service is not getting to certain areas. When I drive in and out of Kohala I mark the spots. When areas are marked repeatedly, the tower operators will adjust the signals accordingly.

    1. Mahalo Rhonda. I have never heard of that as I have Verizon. I will check if they also have something like that. That would surely be a good start; letting them know enough times that they decide it is worth covering.

    2. I wish Verizon had such an app. This is what I was told…The only official way to report dead spots on the Verizon Wireless network is to call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 from a landline or *611 from your phone and request they open a trouble ticket to investigate that location..
