Rose Lucinda Ramos Rosimo, 102, of Portland, Ore., formerly of Kohala, died Feb. 7. Born in Papaya, Philippines, she was a retired site manager for the Hawaii County Nutrition Program, piano teacher in Kohala, founded the Kohala Filipina Community Association, taught English to new immigrants and helped many gain their U.S. citizenship. In 1993, she was recognized by the County of Hawaii as Outstanding Female for Older Americans, and in 2012, was recognized for her 30-plus years of service by the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Kapaau. Casual attire. Survived by children, Ruth (Ed Stuber) Rosimo, Phoebe (Jimmy) Williamson and David (Debbie Clark) Rosimo; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
