This is a Civil Defense Tropical Storm Olivia update for Wednesday, September 12 at 5:00 in the morning.
The Central Pacific Hurricane Center reports that as of 5:00 this morning, Tropical Storm Olivia was located 55 miles East North East of Kahului, Maui, movement is toward the west at 12 mph with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.
The Central Pacific Hurricane Center has cancelled the Tropical Storm Warning for Hawaii Island. Tropical Storm Olivia has weakened during the night and the Central Pacific Hurricane Center forecasts this weakening to continue.
- Monitoring throughout the night by Police, Fire, and Road Crews of the State and County reported no problems occurring in any of the districts of Hawaii Island. Due to the location of the storm, emphasis of monitoring was focused in the Hamakua, Kohala and North Kona districts. Again, these districts report no problems occurred during the night.

- The Department of Education reports all schools are open on Hawaii Island today including all after school activities.
- Police and Road Crews report all roads are clear and open.
