Alert: Hydrologic Outlook issued September 09 at 9:58PM HST by NWS Honolulu

…THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD POTENTIAL
OUTLOOK FOR THE STATE OF HAWAII…
…HURRICANE OLIVIA WILL BRING AN ELEVATED THREAT FOR HEAVY RAINS
AND FLASH FLOODING THIS WEEK…
The latest forecast from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center
weakens Hurricane Olivia just before the center of the storm
passes through the Hawaiian Islands. This forecast continues to
keep the entire state of Hawaii under an elevated threat for heavy
flooding rainfall from Tuesday through Friday.
The precise details on the timing and location of heavy rainfall
remain less certain at this time. Much will depend upon the final
track of Olivia as it moves through the islands. Prepare for this
potentially dangerous storm and keep updated through the Internet
(weather.gov/hawaii), local media, social media, or NOAA Weather
Radio broadcasts, as the forecast impacts for Olivia evolve over
time.
An updated Hydrologic Outlook will be issued by 4 AM HST on Monday
and eventually replaced by a Flash Flood Watch as Hurricane
Olivia moves closer to the islands.
